About Jemima ~ On Trial 30/4/16
Hi my name is Jemima and I'm a happy, friendly 7 year old Cavalier X Poodle who is an absolute delight. My foster family says I'm just the most adorable and sweetest natured girl - I'm looking for my perfect furever family so I'd love to meet you if you have that special place in your lives for a doting companion like me !
I'm in foster care with 2 children under the age of 10 years and I love them to bits - we play games and one of my favourite places ever is to snuggle with them in bed. Because I'm such a gentle and soft-footed lady I will suit children of any age who are gentle and loving with me.
I've been in foster care with 4 other dogs both big and small and I'm fine with them. I'm more of a people dog though , I will hang out with other dogs but not really play with them as I'm quite independent like that (yes I'm a bit of a madam) . I will bark when I first meet other dogs (when at the park or walking) but when I meet them I'm then disinterested as I'm more interested in what you're up to. I love walking so if you go for walks each day I'll help keep you company. I love car trips and I love paddling in the lake so if you live near a lake or beach we can go paddling together. I'm fantastic with cats as I've lived with a cat before and he was awesome!
I love meeting other people, I will bark in excitement and act pretty ditzy (I am blonde!) but all I really want is pats and attention. I'm best suited to a home where I have both human and canine companionship. Although I'm not playful with other dogs I like to have them around so a friendly, relaxed dog of a similar age as myself would be a perfect friend for me.
I would suit a family where I can come inside and outside throughout the day - if I'm left alone in the yard all day I find my voice and your neighbours won't be pleased with my vocal expertise! So a home where I'm included in family activities and I'm inside with you during the day hanging out would make me a happy girl. I need to sleep inside - currently I sleep with my human friends and I sleep the whole night through. I'm also fully house trained (as I have lady-like doggy manners!)
I have a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep me comfortable and exceptionally pretty.
My foster family say I'm very low maintenance and easy to please so if you'd like to find out more about me, please email Jo on jo.payne.aus@hotmail.com . Jemima is in foster care near Doyalson, NSW (upper Central Coast) and is not available for adoption interstate.
Jemima's adoption fee is $550 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
