Toby - Shih Tzu x Cattle (on trial 26/04/16)

Meet Toby, ‘a big, little dog’, Toby is an 18 month old Cattle dog x Shih Tzu. Being Cattle x Shih Tzu, he is quite a unique looking boy and he is often referred to as a ‘big, little dog’. He has the sweet little face of a
Shih Tzu with the bigger body and some colourings of a blue cattle dog.

Toby loves being in the company of humans and he gets so excited to see us when we get home. He is great with kids and despite his quiet and gentle nature, he loves to rumble and play tug-of-war with our Staffy and he can hold his own!

Toby is still learning some manners such as not jumping up on people (he’s like a spring!) and not pulling on the lead, so his new owners will need to continue his training. Overall, he really is such a good boy! He has lots of energy and loves to go for walks, but he has no recall (we are still working on this one).

Toby may take a little while to settle in and be comfortable in his new surrounds and it may take him a few days to eat a proper meal. He is a little bit fussy and prefers to eat home style canned food rather than the casserole type (he is allergic to chicken).

Toby would love a home where he could be part of an active family and be mostly indoors to receive endless cuddles and belly scratches!
