About Goldie ~ Shih Tzu on trial 20/04/16
Meet Goldie, aptly named from her golden coat. She is a female Shih tzu, 5 1/2 years old (dob 19/11/10) and is weighing in at 10kg. Goldie has a wonderful gentle disposition and interacts well with everyone she meets!
Goldie loves to be close to her human companions and gets along well with her foster sisters, cats and even birds don't phase her!
Goldie is very easy to walk on her leash. She is enjoying her daily walks to the park and having long lovely sniffs exploring the outside world, as well as meeting new dogs, which she loves! She's very dog social.
At home Goldie likes to follow her humans around and will be wherever you are. She is not bothered by lawn mowers or blowers, and is unaffected by thunder and sirens. She will bark to let you know when someone comes to your door.
Goldie likes to have a walk around the yard but she is definitely an inside dog, and we are looking for a home that will allow her to maintain this lifestyle.
She adores being brushed and her beautiful coat will require some upkeep. Goldie has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep her comfortable and beautiful.
Goldie likes to have a play with her soft stuffed toys and is enjoying being more active. She responds to basic commands such as sit and come, and is fully house trained.
Goldie has been privately surrendered and has come from a loving family. We would like her next family to have someone who is home part of the day, and another furry friend would be a big plus! She gets along well with children.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
