About Dora *On Trial in Her New Home*
*DORA IS CURRENTLY TRIALING HER NEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES/APPLICATIONS PLEASE* Delightful Dora came to us a couple of months back heavily pregnant though now all her puppies have found loving forever homes it’s Dora’s time to shine! We’ve promised to find her an extra special forever home where she’ll receive the adoration she deserves; will it be with you??
Coming from the wrong side of the tracks Dora’s had a really tough life – she underwent an emergency caesarian 2 days after coming into our care, and she was so malnourished she needed a blood transfusion; we thought we were going to lose her but the little trouper pulled through and proved to be an amazing mum!
Described as an “old soul” by her foster carer Dora has a sweet, gentle personality and she often appears to be smiling she’s so happy these days. She adores cuddles and spending time with you; even hopping on your lap if you let her. She’s friendly and affectionate without being ‘in your face’ or licky, and isn’t at all yappy, only ever barking for a reason. Dora is terrific with other dogs, fine with cats and isn’t fazed by her carers collection of birds which includes cockatiels and a noisy galah. Being the relaxed little dog that she is she’s great around children too.

Dora has lovely manners and doesn’t jump up on you unless asked. She knows sit and will do anything for a Schmacko which will help with any further training you’d like to do with her. Coming into care she didn’t have a name though quickly picked up on ‘Dora’ and she has good recall. Given her past history she’s not sure what all the fuss with doggie toys is about, she’d rather chill out with her humans or just soak up some sunshine while having a little snooze. She’s not overly energetic, in fact she’s fairly laidback so if she’s only walked a couple of times per week it won’t be the end of the world!
We’re not sure what breeds make up this adorable girl; our vet assumes there’s some Heeler in her given her colouring and the “Terrier cross” comes into it due to her short stature, but whatever she is it’s a wonderful mix!
We assume Dora has always been an outside dog, but on the odd occasion that she has been allowed inside while in care, she has enjoyed it thoroughly and given some help with her toilet-training and a chance, she would make a terrific indoor / outdoor dog. Her ideal home would be one where her humans are around a lot; she’d be perfect for retirees or someone who works from home. Secure fencing, bones to chew on and lots of love will make Dora very happy indeed!

Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
