About Max
My name is Max, and I'm a Maltese x Shih Tzu mix and super cute! I ended up in Rescue through no fault of my own along with my 2 sisters, Bella and Mia. My foster home consists of my foster mum and 2 small host dogs who I get along well with. I'm not overly playful with them but it's nice to have their company when my foster mum goes out.
I'm super friendly with both kids and adults and will happily live with another small dog. I may seem a little nervous around them at first but once I get to know them I'm sure we'll be great mates. I find kids highly entertaining (8yrs +) and enjoy a good game of chase. Since coming into care with Wally's, I'm allowed both inside and outside and very much enjoy that. I will do my business outside and haven't had any accidents inside at all.
I would love to find a forever home where I'm allowed to live both inside and outside as part of the family. I'll happily snuggle on your lap and accept any form of affection you can offer. I'm not a big fan of being left on my own, so would like a home where someone is home alot or I have another doggie companion to keep me company when you go out. I do enjoy my walks but have not had alot of training on lead so this will need to be continued in my forever home. I respond well to my name and will come when called.
Unfortunately due to an incident that happened when I was a pup, I lost sight in my left eye, but can see perfectly well without it. I also went in for some dental work yesterday and had a number of teeth removed due to decay, but still have no issues eating kibble and soft food. I've previously been brought up on tinned food so my foster mum is slowly introducing me to raw chicken mince, vegies and rice. Fleas irritate my skin quite badly and am now on medication to help clear up the affected areas and am now flea free, so this is something my new owner will need to keep on top of.
Now that all my vet work is complete, I'm ready to head off to my new home. I'm being fostered in Blue Haven and looking forward to finding a place to call home.
Medical notes
Blind in left eye, flea allergy (controlled by medication)
Adoption details
Please contact Vanessa via phone/email should you wish to meet Max.
When enquiring about Max, please give us some indication of the type of home that he would have with you. We are interested in things such as other animals (past and present), children who may have contact with the dog, whether you own or rent your home, what opportunities for socialization outside the home your dog would have, how much you/someone is home and most importantly, why you feel this dog may be suitable for you.
Wally's Doggie Rescue put a lot of time and effort into ensuring our dogs/pups are sociable and made to feel part of the family, so in considering adoptions, these are the type of things we will be looking for in a new family.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
