About Milly ~ 7wo Boxer X (on trial 22/04/16)
Milly is a 7 week old, female Boxer X puppy. She is a delightful little girl who is full of mischief and adventure. Milly has the cutest ‘pixie’ face and will melt your heart when she looks at you with her big brown eyes.
Although she is smaller than her sister, Molly, (also available for adoption) Milly is full of attitude and is certainly the boss in most situations. If you are looking for a puppy with ‘spunk’ then Milly is definitely your girl!
Milly is a very smart puppy and was the first to work out how to use the doggie door. Her toilet training is a work in progress but she is doing very well. She is crate trained and is able to sleep comfortably all night without making a sound.
Milly is currently living with 5 other dogs – her litter sister Molly; an 8-week old puppy, Jedda (also available for adoption); a 12-year-old terrier; a Labrador and a Golden Retriever. She gets on well with all of them and also tries hard to make friends with the cranky old cat. Unfortunately, he isn’t very cooperative. Milly loves adults and children and will smother everyone with kisses.
Playtime for Milly consists of romping and wrestling in the backyard with the other puppies and playing hide n seek in the garden. She also loves to play with tug ropes and soft toys. Milly would be best suited to a family/couple/single where someone is at home most of the time or where there is another dog to keep her company as she does get a little upset when left alone.
Being a puppy it is recommended that Milly attend puppy preschool so that she has the chance to learn basic manners, and become a calm member of the family. Milly sleeps inside and will need a family that understands that she will need indoor time when the family are at home. She now brings herself inside for a nap or quiet time via the doggie door.
Milly is a very smart puppy and responds well to training. She has excellent recall and is currently learning to sit and wait for her food. The waiting is the hard bit but she is trying. She is able to share a bowl of food with the other two puppies and adores a chicken neck to munch on.
As Milly is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption in the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Central Coast areas and will need to be returned to our Vet for desexing when she’s 5-6 months old.
If you are interested in adopting or meeting Milly please email an application form to her foster carer, Michelle at michelle.jackson@live.com.au or for more information call on 0422652530. Milly is located in Cessnock, 40 minutes North-West of Newcastle.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
