About Jedda ~ 8wo Kelpie X puppy (On Trial 23/4/16)
Jedda is an eight week old female Kelpie X puppy. She was surrendered on her own but quickly made friends with the other two puppies in care. She has the most beautiful chocolate brown coat and is an affectionate and independent girl who loves to wrestle with her foster sisters. She is the oldest of the puppies and likes to think she’s in charge.
Jedda loves to spend time exploring all the new things in the backyard and will then have a lovely snooze in the garden. She enjoys a cuddle and adores a belly rub. Jedda’s day consists of ‘eat, play, sleep. Repeat!’. Her favourite games are playing chasees and chewing on toys. She adores her food and is able to happily share a bowl with the other two puppies.
Her foster siblings also include a 12-year-old terrier who she loves to play chasees with, a Golden Retriever, a Labrador and a cranky old cat. She tries really hard to make friends with Felix the cat but he isn’t very cooperative.
Jedda is already crate trained and sleeps contentedly in her crate all night. She sleeps indoors and is working hard on toilet training. Jedda will need a family that understands that dogs are part of the family and need to spend time indoors when the family are at home.
She is a very smart little girl and has already mastered the doggie door and will sit for her food. She has great recall and will respond really well to training.
Jedda would love a family with another dog to play with and to help teach her doggie manners. Being a puppy she should not be left alone for extended periods as she may get into mischief. She will need lots of affection, exercise and training. We strongly recommend puppy pre-school to assist with training and socialisation.
As Jedda is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption in the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Central Coast areas and will need to be returned to our Vet for desexing when she’s 5-6 months old.
If you are interested in adopting Jedda please email an application form to her foster carer, Michelle at michelle.jackson@live.com.au or for more information call on 0422652530. Jedda is located in Cessnock, 40 minutes North-West of Newcastle.
Jedda’s adoption fee is $500 and includes desexing, microchipping, vaccinations, worm and flea treatments and life-time registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
