About Charlie
This old boy has been let down by so many people in his life
All he wants is a loving home to spend his last few years on this earth, can you be the one to give him love for the rest of his life??
His story is a long one so read it below if you're interested in learning more about his history.
But at present he is a beautiful natured, happy and healthy cat approx 13 years young and looking for love
He's great with other cats and dogs
He is FIV positive but is extremely healthy especially for his age, he just has a lower immunity so needs to be kept indoors, fed good food and kept up to date with vaccinations...same as any other cat!
He's very placid so there's little risk he will pass to other cats as its only passed by deep bite wounds
More on FIV can be found here http://www.v63.net/catsanctuary/fiv.html
He is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped
Adoption fee is negotiable, the perfect home is not
Charlie's story-
Charlie moved in with some people as a stray, they took him to a vet and discovered he was microchipped...and went missing 7 years ago!
His previous owners had moved on and didn't want him anymore.
The people who found him had him Fiv tested and it came back positive, the vet scared them, didn't give them the correct facts about FIV and suggested euthanasia. They had grown very attached and couldn't bear to euthanase, so took him to rspca, not knowing they would also put him down due to his Fiv status.
His story was posted on social media, as he was microchipped rspca would hold him for a set time prior to putting him to sleep, but his time was running out.
His microchipped owners from 7 years ago reclaimed him on our behalf and he came to one of our carers.
By that stage he had contracted the flu from the rspca due to his lowered immune system. He then spent a week at the vet in intensive care, it was suggested he be euthanised again, but after a second opinion and lots of nursing care he pulled through. The lovely people who had him as a stray offered to pay for his intensive care and have been keeping up to date with his progress.
He is now back to extremely good health for a cat his age!
He must have had owners and been loved in the 7 years he was missing, but we haven't been able to find them!
Please SHARE his face around and maybe he can have another miracle in his life, but for right now he needs a loving home where he won't be constantly exposed to new bugs with every new sick cat that comes in!
Please let us know if you'd be interested in fostering or adopting this lovely boy
