Shiba

Shiba is a playful active young dog who is very affectionate. Her favourite activity is chasing water from a sprinkler; which if she could she would do endlessly. Shiba has high energy and requires a lot of attention; she can however be calmed down within a few minutes of the excitement of being around people and will happily sit to be patted. She also enjoys playing fetch and she is learning to drop the toy for it to be thrown again.

Shiba can be left alone at night, but during the day she requires stimulation (such as chew toys to keep her entertained). Like most larger dogs she is unaware of how big she is and sometimes she needs to be reminded of this fact.

Shiba doesn’t mix well with new dogs on the street but she is cared for with two other dogs (male and female) who she simply wants to play with; it took her a few introductions to establish a relationship with the other dogs. She is however very friendly and happy to be around any humans.

Shiba has not been tested with children, but as she has a tendency to jump it is not recommended that she is around children without prior training.

Shiba is mostly untrained; although she can now sit on command, which she learnt quickly. She can be a little jumpy but will stop when asked.

Overall Shiba is a large loving pup who is happy and very playful, she would suite a home that can cater to her activity level
