About Mia (Cat/Dog/Poultry Friendly)
Meet Mia, the sweetest, dearest Chihauhua in foster care with Wally's Doggie Rescue. Mia was a private surrender into Wally's, as her previous owners were moving house and couldn't take her with them.
Mia is currently in foster care in a family environment with other small dogs, children, cats and poultry. .Mia is 9 year old, white/cream Long Haired Chihauhau who dreams of being the next Paris Hilton dog. Mia loves dress ups, and to be held and carried around. She loves her foster family and wants nothing more to be with them 24/7.
Mia has spent her whole life outside, with the elements, was flea infested and had fly blown ears. Mia had to be shaved, to remove all the knots out of her fur, and some permanent damage to her skin from neglect. Mia use to live with two other small dogs in her previous home, but was said to be bossy and would snap at the other dogs. Mia walks well on a lead and is not dog reactive when out walking with her foster humans and host dogs. Mia due to her size, does feel intimidated by large dogs and will avoid them and take a wide path.
So, Mia would prefer to be an ONLY dog, so she doesn't have to share her humans. Mia is dog friendly with her host dogs, but will snap if they get in her face. Mia has been tested with cats and poultry and fine with both. Mia will not share her human foster carers lap with one, though. Mia is low energy and non active. She is learning to be an inside dog, and we would like it to stay that way. With regular outdoor breaks, Mia has not gone inside the house. Mia is crated of an evening, and is using her pee pads to toilet on in the crate. Mia is a fussy eater and currently being fed Royal Canin dermocoat mini biscuits and bbq chicken chopped up very small and wet Royal Canin Beauty tin food. I would like Mia to stay on Royal Canin in her new home, as well.
With the average age of the Chihauhau being to 15 to 20 years, little Mia and her 2.5kg has still got a lot of living to do. Mia would suit a retiree or someone home, a majority of the day to show Mia, that humans aren't all bad and show her the love that she deserves.

Adoption details
When enquiring about Mia, please give us some indication of the type of home that she would have with you. We are interested in things such as other animals (past and present), children who may have contact with the dog, whether you own or rent your home, what opportunities for socialisation outside the home your dog would have, how much you/someone is home and most importantly, why you feel this dog may be suitable for you.
Wally's Dog Rescue put a lot of time and effort into ensuring our dogs/pups are sociable and made to feel part of the family, so in considering adoptions, these are the type of things we will be looking for in a new family.
To kickstart my training, Wyong Dog Training Club will provide 3 FREE dog training sessions
http://wyongdogtrainingclub.org.au/. So please be sure to utilise this awesome gift which will benefit both you and Mia.
Wally's Doggie Rescue likes all of our rescues to be adopted into families that will continue their socialisation and allow their dogs inside of the home on a regular basis to ensure that they are part of the family. This is particulary so if they are to be an only dog.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
