About Charlie (Dog/Cat Friendly)
Meet Charlie a 5 year old, male Maltese x Poodle.
Charlie is affectionate and loving. Charlie loves other dogs and loves going for walks on the lead, and is described as a super smart boy.
Charlie is not a fan of small children and requires a calm environment and household. Please talk to Joan if you believe Charlie is for you. Charlie has a stubborn nature to him, and needs a dog experienced person for his next home. Charlie is fully toilet trained. I am a sweet little dog but I am stubborn. I do not like to being picked up and pampered. I just like to jump on the lounge with you when I am ready and then loved to cuddled in. When I've been settled somewhere I do no not like to be moved. Just call me and entice me to move. If you remember these requirements, I will be a good dog. If you do not, I will nip and bite you. I can be left for long periods at a time and do NOT have separation anxiety. I would ideally suit an older lady or gentlemen and quiet house or unit.
Charlie has basic training and commands of:
Come and excellent RECALL of leash. The HEEL command when on lead. WAIT, iif he is running ahead (off lead) and you call ‘wait’, he will stopp and wait. LEAVE IT command if he finds something on the ground, you can tell him to ‘leave it’ and pull him away. and the GIVE command to release and drop what he has in his mouth, such as a toy. Charlie is highly possessive of toys and even if he drops it, he will sometimes stand over it guarding it, so needs further correction.
Charlie is located in Mosman. Please call Joan for more information.

When enquiring about Charlie, please give us some indication of the type of home that he would have with you. We are interested in things such as other animals (past and present), children who may have contact with the dog, whether you own or rent your home, what opportunities for socialisation outside the home your dog would have, how much you/someone is home and most importantly, why you feel this dog may be suitable for you.
Wally's Dog Rescue put a lot of time and effort into ensuring our dogs/pups are sociable and made to feel part of the family, so in considering adoptions, these are the type of things we will be looking for in a new family.
To kickstart my training, Wyong Dog Training Club will provide 3 FREE dog training sessions
http://wyongdogtrainingclub.org.au/. So please be sure to utilise this awesome gift which will benefit both you and Charlie.
Wally's Doggie Rescue likes all of our rescues to be adopted into families that will continue their socialisation and allow their dogs inside of the home on a regular basis to ensure that they are part of the family. This is particulary so if they are to be an only dog.
Charlie is located in Mosman, Sydney. If there are other dogs in the family we encouraged you to bring along your existing dog to meet Charlie.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
