About Pearl ~ Cattle x Puppy (On trial 27/04/16)
Introducing Pearl! Pearl is a 10-week-old Australian Cattle Dog x puppy. Pearl has the sweetest personality and her absolute favourite thing to do is be on your lap for cuddles and kisses. She is incredibly affectionate and just wants to be by your side as your best friend.
Pearl came into DRN care at just 5 weeks old with her siblings Piper, Chase and Chester. She also lives with three other foster siblings; two Cattle dogs and a Border Collie who is she is also very affectionate towards.
Pearl will need to have access to both indoors and outdoors as she is currently sleeping inside where she is most comfortable.
Due to the nature of her breed, Pearl will need to go a home with 6ft fences and preferably someone who has experience with this active and intelligent breed.
Like a traditional Cattle Dog, Pearl was born with no tail. So instead of wagging her tail to let you know she’s happy; she instead wags her whole bum in a manner full of adorable attitude.
Pearl loves playing with her Kong toys and enjoys playing with her siblings. She has a very inquisitive nature and loves exploring her foster Mum’s large yard with her siblings.
On a typical day, you will find Pearl getting her paws wet in the shell pool, laying about with her siblings and playing with her favourite squeaky toys.
Pearl is not yet trained in any way, so she will require someone with experience to teach her good manners. Puppy preschool is always recommended to get a head start on training and to help strengthen the bond between her and her new forever family.
It is also a big plus if you already have a well mannered dog as a friend, teacher and playmate. If this is not the case, she will need to go to a home where someone is home most of the time as she is still very young and can’t be kept alone for long periods of time.
Pearl is currently enjoying a diet of dry food, mince and brisket bones or chicken wings and would enjoy to have that continued in his forever home.
For more information or to meet Pearl, please contact her foster carer Kelly on 0428 422 761 or email kellyhandsaker@gmail.com . Pearl is in foster care in New Lambton, NSW (Newcastle).
Pearl's adoption fee is $500 and she is vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. Piper will need to be brought back to DRN for desexing when old enough. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
