About Poppy ~ Kelpie x Chihuahua (Trial 11/4/16)
Poppy is an approximately 3 year old Kelpie x Chihuahua. She is lively little girl, hence her nickname "Popcorn". She's very playful and enjoys playing with balls and toys. She gets on well with other dogs and would be happy to have another dog as a playmate but would also be fine as an only dog so long as she is included in family activities. She would like to have a daily walk and play time with her people.
I think she would not be suitable for children under 8 because she may jump on them until she receives further training, but would be ok with older children.
Being a pocket sized kelpie, Poppy is a pretty good jumper for her size, so she'll need a yard with 5 foot fences. She enjoys learning new things and would excel with further training. She is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside, at least when people are home, and to sleep inside.
Poppy has a lovely nature. She's a darling girl who likes cuddles and to sneak into your bed if you'll let her.
For more information or to meet Poppy, please contact her foster carer Doug on 0418629853 or email redkelpie.da@gmail.com. Poppy is in foster care in Blackalls Park, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Poppy's adoption fee is $400 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
