About Diesel ~ kelpie x cattle dog (on trial 24/07/16)
Meet Diesel, a delightful 4 month old Kelpie x Cattle Dog puppy. Diesel is always happy, full of puppy enthusiasm and loves everyone he meets. He is currently being fostered with his brother Jack, who is also up for adoption. They spend most of the day playing with each other and their toys and the rest of the day napping.
He is a joyful youngster and wants to be involved in everything. He has plenty of puppy energy.
Diesel is learning basic commands. He knows his name, how to sit, and waits for his food. He doesn't jump up unless he gets visitors and over excited and is improving with that. He is a fast learner and with more training he has the potential to learn many more tricks. Diesel has been an outside dog since coming into foster care so he is yet to be toilet trained but we would love for him to go to a home where he is allowed inside time.
Our yard has 5ft high fences and he has shown no signs of trying to jump. He has horses and goats on the other side which don't bother him at all. But the chickens look pretty interesting to him!
Diesel has sent some time with a 5yr old boy and was fine with him. He would be best with young kids that are comfortable around dogs as Diesel is young and strong. He would be suited to a home that has another dog for him to play with or with people who can walk him daily and include him in family activities.

Diesel's adoption fee is $500 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
