About Jack ~ kelpie x cattle dog puppy (On Trial 6/4/16)
Hi, Meet Jack! Jack is a 4 month old Kelpie x Cattle Dog puppy. Jack has the sweetest personality, is always happy and loves people. He is currently being fostered with his brother Diesel, who is also up for adoption. They spend most of the day playing with each other and their toys and the rest of the day sleeping awkwardly on top of each other. Although Jack is still only young, he can act like a much more mature dog. When he has human company he will just sit and your feet wanting pats while the other dogs play.
Jack loves his shell pool! Quite often he will lay in it or dig in it to splash water on himself. He has only been to the beach once and he enjoyed it. He enjoys water.
Jack is learning basic commands. He knows his name, how to sit, and waits for his food. He doesn't jump up unless he gets visitors and over excited and is improving with that. He is a fast learner and with more training he has the potential to learn many more tricks. Jack has been an outside dog since coming into foster care so he is yet to be toilet trained but we would love for him to go to a home where he is allowed inside time.
Our yard has 5ft high fences and he has shown no signs of trying to jump. He has horses and goats on the other side which don't bother him at all. But the chickens look pretty interesting to him!
Jack has sent some time with a 5yr old boy and was fine with him. He would be best with young kids that are dog confident as Jack is young and strong. Jack would be suited to a home that has another dog for him to play with or would be fine as an only dog so long as he can be a part of the family.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
