About Wobbles
Charming, charismatic, out-going, energetic, full of love and full of beans is the shortest way to describe Wobbles, though if you had more time and more adjectives you could go on talking about him for hours.
Wobbles is a happy-go-lucky, affectionate and very cheeky dude who is not slowed down by his disability (which inspired his name) - a minor neurological problem that affects his control of his back legs. Basically, he doesn't walk - he Wobbles!
A great cat as it is, something about his condition and the way with which he handles it (basically, to completely ignore it and take on life head-first) makes Wobbles just about irresistable.
He has bad habits like nibbling your toes and knocking things off of shelves plus he will climb up onto tall things before realising that he can't jump down and crying for you to help. But he happens to have the most magnificent purr and when you pick him up, he reflexively wraps his arms around your neck in an embrace.
Wobbles can walk and run relatively normally (though when he gets up to full running speed, especially on polished floors or tiles, he tends to lose his back end and full over comically) but he will need to go to a new family who will guarantee that they will keep him strictly indoors, in a secure cat run, or outside on a harness only. This is for his own well-being, as he would be unable to out-run a dog, avoid a car or get down if he climbed a tree.
He gets on very well with dogs and loves to play with other cats but can be very stand-offish at first and plays ROUGH with feline friends, so if you already have a cat they will need to be tough and have a similarly big personality. Wobbles would be too full-on for a small child as he is still learning how to use his claws and teeth appropriately, but for older kids or an adult family he would be perfect.
Did we mention his shattering good looks?? Because he happens to be super handsome.

Wobbles has had his condition from birth. Vets have been unable to conclusively diagnose the exact mechanisms at play but he has been in care for over 3 months and in this time his abilities have neither improved or worsened. The general opinion of our vets is that he is likely to live a long and happy life if kept safely indoors. There is a possibility of course that he may deteriorate later in life. If Wobbles develops additional neurological problems in the future, SAFE will be happy to work with his family to access appropriate vet care at minimal or no cost.

We at SAFE Avon Valley guarantee that every one of our dogs is suitable to be re-homed. It is our job to ensure that we match our dog with it's perfect family (a bit like a dating agency).
If you would like to know more about this dog please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If the dog sounds suitable then we pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to view the dog.
Once you have meet the dog and are happy to go further then we organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure for the dog.
Once that is completed you can then take the dog home on a 2 week trial, if the dog is not suitable then you simply return it.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
