About Winnie & Narly - Bonded Pair (on trial 24/07/16)
Introducing Narli and Winnie. Our beautifully bonded pair who are ready to find their forever home! These guys have been together a very long time, and so we are hoping to find them a home where they can live happily ever after together.
Narli - 6yo (approx). male, Dachshund x Fox Terrier.
This little gentleman's quirky personality wins over everyone he meets! He may be a little stand offish when he first meets someone new, but quickly warms up to them when given the chance.
He loves a good chew on anything he's given, and sometimes things he's not supposed to chew on, so Narli will need training and access to toys and chewable treats to deter him from taking aim at something he's not supposed to chew on. He hasn't taken a fancy to shoes which is a welcomed relief for his foster carer!
Narli is a big food lover, and loves it more than anything!! He is by no means a fussy eater, however a nice, juicy bone will always brighten his day and keep him busy for hours.
One of his favourite places is the beach, and he will run straight to the water for a paddle if allowed!
Narli gets very excited to see you when you come home and jumps up and leans on you for a pat. This precious little man has so much love to give, but he must remain part of an adorable package. His carer refers to his companion as his 'wife', and they act just like it - never wanting to be too far away from each other. They have the occasional nag at each other, as married couples often do, but their love and protectiveness of each other is one to be treasured and admired.
Winnie - 5yo, female, Miniature Foxy x Jack Russell Terrior
This little bunddle of energy just loves playing fetch more than anything in the whole wife world!! Ball is life, and life is ball! She recently discovered that she also doesn't mind playing in her clam shell pool with her toys, but nothing beats sitting on your lap for a cuddle, a pat, and a kiss when the occasion calls for it.
Winnie rarely runs out of energy, but she's a very gentle soul with people. She knows how to treat you 'just right'. She is a very social butterfly and loves meeting other dogs.
Winnie loves a good chomp on a bone or treat whenever on offer, although she can be very cheeky with her bones and likes to tease Narli - so its always best to make sure they both get a treat/toy or bone at the same time to stop any disagreements between them.
Together at the doggy beach they play happily in the waves and love making new friends with other dogs.. They are very curious about the world, and love exploring. They stick very close to each other because they have been a pair for a very long time, and we'd love for them to find a home together to maintain this closeness.
They currently sleep and live outside, but prior to coming into care they were inside dogs. We think inside is better for them so they can lap up as much human affection as possible, which makes them the happiest pooches in the world!

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
