About Matrix ~ Mastiff x Labrador puppy(Trial 9/2/16)
Matrix is a 7 week old, male, Mastiff x Labrador puppy. His is lovely natured, friendly little puppy. He loves to wrestle and rumble with the other puppies and run around the yard amongst the palms and shrubs. He loves playing with his many toys.
Matrix is a very healthy little puppy who has been raised in a home environment. He has been very well socialised with other puppies and adult dogs from very tiny to very large and gets along well with them all. He's met lots of people and adores getting picked up and held for a cuddle and maybe a nap on your lap.
Matrix will grow up to be a large dog so you need to be happy about that and to commit to training. We recommend puppy training classes for all puppies. Matrix will need a daily walk, toys, and interaction with people. Puppies are a big commitment for approximately 12 to 15 years.
Matrix needs to be allowed inside when people are home, and must sleep inside. He will be great family dog and is suitable for children 8 years and older. You will need good fencing with no small gaps. He cannot go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire). Gates need to have locks on them to discourage dog thieves (sad but true).
It would be a big plus if you have a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate for Matrix. If you don't have another dog to keep him company, then there needs to be someone in the household that doesn't work full time.
Matrix, his siblings, and his mother Lizze, where all abandoned at a pound when the puppies where only 2 weeks old. Fortunately, Dog Rescue Newcastle saved mum and pups. Lizze has been a great mother and she and her puppies are all healthy and thriving. There are 11 puppies in this litter. Six of them are with one foster carer: 3 males (Matrix, Nitro, and Tye) and 3 females (Emerald, Gem, and Maeve). The other 3 are with another carer and are also available for adoption.
As Matrix is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he's 4 or 5 months old. Matrix will be ready to go to his forever home on 9/4/16, after his second vaccination.
For more information or to meet Matrix, please phone his foster mum Robyn on 02 4953 7115. Please leave a detailed message and she'll ring you back. Matrix is in Glendale, NSW (Lake Macquarie, near Newcastle).
Matrix's adoption fee is $500 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, and microchipping. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
