About Hank *On Trial in His New Home*
*HANK IS CURRENTLY TRIALING HIS NEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES/APPLICATIONS PLEASE* When you talk about "rescue dogs" .... Hank could be on the poster…..
He may not be the prettiest or fluffiest dog out there, but Hank has a heart as BIG as he is (around 50 kgs) and a past that would break your own heart.
Hank came to SARG directly from a Council Ranger who had legally seized him due to his terrible condition. It is unsure as to how he ended up this way, but he was completely unrecognisable as the gorgeous big boy he now is.
His foster parents say he is the most lovable, entertaining, funny and sweet dog they have looked after. He gets on fabulously with their own 4 dogs on a farm property and loves meeting new critters when they visit, wanders around with the chooks and ducks, enjoys a sunbake and a sleep inside on the doggy mattress with his Teddy....and ADORES food! For a big dog who has come from a background where every meal was possibly his last, he is very gentle when taking food, and gets a big goofy doggy grin on his face if roast chicken or cheese are involved!
Hank has spent time with kids and is very happy to have them curl up next to him and pat him for hours. Pats are good! (It is as if he is making up time for the years he was never patted or loved...) Everyone who meets him falls for him as he is such a gentle soul who has been through hell (and still has the physical scars to prove it - and probably always will).
Hank the Tank has put on about 15 kg since arriving at his foster folk's farm in early December - he was so skinny and sad when he arrived, but quickly gained condition and his personality. The vet gave him a complete check up and says he appears to be around 4 years old and is surprisingly healthy and happy for a dog with such a horrible past. She was unsure as to his breed - maybe some bull arab with a bit of mastiff? Hard to say ...
We can give you more background information (and photos) if you are interested in adopting this beautiful big boy who is probably the dog most deserving of a happy and loving furever home that you could meet. He would love a place of his own where he can plod around next to you (he might get up to a bit of a trot, but definitely won't be jumping fences or running off!), sleep for hours a day (we doubt he had much uninterrupted quality sleep where he came from), and be spoilt by someone who gives him lots of pats and kind words. He won't be in your face the whole time - he takes himself off for quiet time - but then will come back to make sure that he really does have someone who will give his scarred head and wonky ear a scratch and speak to him nicely. He isn't a barky dog, but will give a big deep "whhhhoooof" if an unknown car pulls up at your place. Oh yes - he LOVES the car or getting in the back of the ute (needs a bit of help climbing up) .... he does a little Hank dance when he is going for a drive!

Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
