About Toby ~ 4yo Small Terrier boy (On Trial 20/3/16)
Hi, my name is Toby. I am a small terrier mix boy and am about 4 years old. I’m only little - I weigh just 5 kilos, but I am very friendly and affectionate.
I love to snuggle with my foster mum, and will crawl under the blankets at night to go to sleep. I don't move all night. I am fully house trained, I have not had an accident since being in foster care. I will let you know when I need to go outside. Because of my small size I need to be a house dog. I must sleep inside at night and will require a little dog jumper in the winter (I look very cute in a jumper).
I love children, I enjoy seeing the grandchildren every day. I have been at my foster home for 4 weeks and settled in well with my three doggie foster siblings.
I love to sit with my foster mum and watch TV, I follow her around the house and yard. I would be ok at home as an only dog if you are home during the day. However, if there is another small dog in the house then I will be fine if you go to work each day. I am frightened of big dogs, so will not suit a home with a large dog. I have not met cats, so I am not sure how I would go with them.
I am a very quiet dog, my foster mum has only heard me bark once! I have a low shed coat and just require a brush every day. I am good when being bathed - I don't really like it, but I just stand still in the bath while being washed.
I would love to be your little dog, I know you will fall in love with me.
For more information or to meet Toby, please contact his foster carer Robyn on 0414 550 340. Toby is in foster care in Fennell Bay, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Toby's adoption fee is $400 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
