Mavis ~ 5yo 'blue' Am Staffy (trial 15/4/16)

Mavis is a beautiful 5 year old "blue" purebred and papered American Staffordshire Terrier from the Newbelle kennel. She is small-statured in that she hovers around 20kg. Both of her parents are Australian Champions in the showing ring, as are a brother and sister from her litter, but despite her spectacular markings Mavis has been kept as a companion and never shown. She is desexed and has basic training and even a few tricks - depending on if you have a treat in your hand.

Mavis is a little princess. She loves attention and affection and would gladly spend the day cuddled up to you on the lounge. We call her the cat-dog because she has the personality of a cat in that she rarely barks and does not chew, but she is in a dog body. Mavis has a tendency toward food aggression that will mean that she must be the only dog in her home. While untested with cats in close proximity, her reactions when we've come across them on walks indicate that she'd probably chase. Mavis has been fine with young children but must be supervised at all times with them due to her size.

Mavis has always slept inside, but has been outside during the day. Given any opportunity, she will be close by your side for company. She loves a walk and playing at the off-leash beach, and she gets many compliments wherever she goes.

Mavis is being regretfully rehomed due to a combination of family illness and the food aggression.
