About Zeke ~ On Trial 28/7/16
Introducing Zeke! Zeke is a 5 1/2 month old cattle dog cross - he is a sweet, kind dog that is so full of life and loves to spend time with both humans and other dogs.
Zeke is very loyal and loves nothing more than to be a part of the family. He is the perfect mix of active and cuddly as he enjoys his downtime with you as much as he enjoys a good run around - he'll happily snuggle up on your lap or right beside you whether you are out in the yard or relaxing in front of the TV.
Zeke enjoys a good game of tug-o-war, going to the river or beach for a swim, daily walks and loves to meet new friends at the dog park. He loves playing in a clam pool and will happily chase after tennis balls all day.
Zeke’s natural intelligence and love of food has meant that he is very quick at learning doggy manners. He can sit, stay, drop, come back and knows "outside”. Zeke is also completely house trained and has had no accidents in the house whilst in foster care. Because he is still a puppy, he is still learning not to jump up on people and not to play-mouth – with consistent and positive training he will grow out of this. He responds well to no, get down and drop though when he gets over his initial excitement meeting new people.
Zeke is a very affectionate young man, and just adores his human companions. Zeke would best suit someone who would be able to walk or play with him at least once a day. He may be a bit lively for younger children but would be great for a family with teenagers. He would be a suitable dog for a family who works full-time, as long as he has another doggy companion to play with during the day.
Zeke is very easygoing and is happy being either an inside or outside dog. Currently, he is an inside/outside dog – spending a few hours outside during the day with his doggie pals, and having inside time in the afternoon and night to cuddle up with his humans (his favourite time of the day!)
Zeke would best suit a family who has another dog, so that he has some company during the day. He is currently living with a silky terrier and border collie x and gets on well with both dogs. To our knowledge he hasn’t ever been around cats. He has a long life ahead of him, and plenty of love to give, we think he would bring something very special to any family who adopts him.
If you think you could offer Zeke a loving, affectionate, active and happy furever home, please contact his foster carer Laura on 0401 414 874 or email lauraa1710@gmail.com . Zeke is located near Erina on the NSW Central Coast
Zeke's adoption fee is $350 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
