About Cricket & Kora
We thought it was about time that we introduced ourselves to everyone. My name is Cricket and i have been in foster care with Fresh Start Rescue since i was 7 weeks old. I am in foster care with my sister Kora and we would like to let everyone know that we are still looking for one of those forever homes that us rescue kittens dream of.
Our foster mum says that we are a bit more quirky than your normal 6 month old kitten. I say it is because we are awesome, but she seems to think we have a neurological disorder. That disorder is called Cerebellar Hypoplasia and it means that our Cerebellum was underdeveloped during pregnancy. It affects our fine motor skills and makes us walk with this adorable wobble. We can do everything ourselves, we just need to take a few moments more to think about things before we act. When i had my vet check up they said that i had a heart murmur (hole in my heart). I have been to a cardiologist and they said it is a good kind, the kind that doesn't need any medications. It does need to be checked annually but my foster mum can explain that stuff to you.
We can't jump, foster mum says this is actually a good thing because we can't get up on the kitchen bench when she is cooking something that smells yummy. We use our front legs to pull ourselves up and don't be fooled, we can definitely get up on to your bed when we would like a snuggle. We are currently living with four adult cats that we love a lot and a staffy that play wrestles with us and cleans up our messy faces after we eat. We are not a fan of those little crazy foster kittens that run too quickly and get us all confused.
We are a package deal, us sisters have to go together. We love each other and my sister Kora relies on me to keep her safe. Our foster mummy loves us heaps and we love our foster home but mum says we need to be big girls now and find our forever home.
Medical notes
Kora and Cricket both have Cerebeller Hypoplasia, which does not require ongoing medication. It is a neurological disorder, that is easily managed and non-progressive.
