About Timmothy
Super friendly Timmothy has a story to tell!
Timmothy was abandoned and lonely in Canberra. However he charmed the socks off a rescuer and was able to get a ride down to Melbourne!
Timmothy is about 3 years old. He is a super friendly affectionate cat with all the right ginger attributes: Handsome. Friendly. Affectionate.
Timmothy has settled in beautifully into being an indoor cat. His favorite sleeping spots are:
* under the office desk,
* on the office chair and
* in the bathroom sink.
Well Timothy has tried his luck at being a politician in Canberra and now he is wanting to be a much-loved critter in someone's household.
Life may not have always been as good as it is now for Timmothy. When he went in for his vet visit they found out that he needed a tooth removed. Also, one of his testicles was up in his tummy and so he had to have major surgery. While at the vet they did another test, and yes hey bingo he tested positive to cat aids.
But please note - this does not shorten his life expectancy. Timmothy is a healthy happy cat who can be introduced to and live with cats who have been vaccinated for FIV.
Timmothy should be an indoor cat or a cat for a family with other pets. The dear boy is not a fighter but a lover and would make somebody the luckiest owner of the most charming cat.
In the meantime he has settled in beautifully at 2nd Chance Cat Rescue's headquarters and is enjoying a pampered lifestyle.

Medical notes
FIV Positive
Misguided beliefs about FIV-positive cats have also led to long stays — sometimes as long as the cat’s whole life — for the FIVers lucky enough to be placed in no-kill shelters. There is no need for FIV cats to be adopted only into homes with other FIV-positive cats; the disease is transmitted only by deep bite wounds, which happen only if the cats get into intense fights. Proper introductions and consideration of the individual cats’ personalities should go a long way to prevent such fights.
Adoption details
All our cats and kittens are:
* desexed,
* micro-chipped,
* vaccinated and
* worm and flea treated.
ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE
We ask that you complete an Adoption Questionnaire before we make arrangements for you to meet a cat or kitten. This is to ensure that we find the best possible match for you and the cats/kittens in our care.
PROCEDURE
1. Please send an e-mail to: danielamaslen@hotmail.com
2. You will be e-mailed our Adoption Questionnaire
3. Complete the Adoption Questionnaire and send (e-mail) back to us.
4. If your application is successful, we will contact you to arrange a meet and greet.
If the adoption is going ahead, we ask that you pay on the day of adoption the fee as stated on the cat's profile .
Please note that we only accept cash.
We hand over a signed Change of Ownership form which you will need to send to the Microchip company after the two week trial period has expired.
PLEASE BE PATIENT
2nd Chance Cat Rescue is a home-based rescue group and most of our volunteers are working full-time so we hope that you understand that it may take 1-2 days to get back to you.
