About Poppy ~ Shar Pei x Staffy (on trial 17/03/16)
Poppy is an adorable, affectionate, 6 month old Staffy x Shar Pei. She is a beautiful girl with her shiny black coat and splatters of brindle throughout. She’s a very loving girl and likes to sit as close as possible to you and get lots of pats. She loves getting in the shell pool and absolutely loves the beach, but isn’t too keen on the hose. Poppy has been an outside dog and is quite happy to sleep outside too as long as she has somewhere out of the weather and a nice comfy bed.
Poppy would be best suited to a family with older kids as she is still learning not to jump up on people. She knows how to sit for her dinner and is learning to shake. Poppy is great friends with her foster brother Billy and loves to run around the yard with him. She is learning the come command and is getting the hang of it very quickly. She pulls a little on the lead when she is excited, so would definitely benefit from further training. Poppy tends to eat very quickly, so she is fed separately to avoid any arguments over food. Poppy is great in the car and likes to lay down and relax when she goes for a drive.
Poppy would love to be part of an active family where she will have someone to be with her most of the time, be taken on daily walks and trips to the beach. She really does love other playful dogs so having a friend for her at home would be fabulous (especially if she needs to be left alone for extended periods). Poppy is patiently waiting for her forever home.
For more information or to meet Poppy, please contact her foster carer Kellie on 0401 310 416 or email kelmwarren82@hotmail.com. Poppy is in foster care in the Newcastle area, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Poppy's adoption fee is $350 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
