About Buddy Perkins
Buddy Perkins, a.k.a. ‘Helicopter Tail’, is bursting with loving energy.
When he is most happy his tail spins around in circles so quickly you may be worried he’ll take off!
Buddy is very friendly, not at all aggressive and is great with people and other dogs. He is currently fostered in a household with two adults and a Staffy x Labrador and they all get along very well.
He needs to be watched if he is given any off leash activity as he has only one playing style - full on and some dogs just won't like that.
He is very protective of his home with his loud bark. He only ever barks if he hears a strange noise and if that noise ever happened to be a burglar they would certainly be deterred. Great work Buddy!
Buddy's loves:
• To be part of a family that will spend lots of quality time with him, as he adores being around people and other dogs. He would not be very content being left at home for long periods on his own without either dog or people.
• High energy play sessions. Being young and an energetic boy he craves action! He isn’t into playing fetch yet, but is beginning to understand tug-of-war. He loves wrestling with his doggy friends and chasing them around in circles.
• Going for walks. He can’t sit still at the door before his morning and afternoon walks. He literally shakes with anticipation! Despite his excitement, he is very well behaved on walks. He wears a no-pull dog harness while walking and never pulls on the lead.
Buddy's perfect home:
• People with the time to train him. As he is young he is still learning, but if you’re consistent he picks up training really quickly.
• A family with big hearts. Buddy is just full of pure love and needs someone who has the time and compassion to reciprocate it.

All dogs that come into the care of Victorian Dog Rescue are tested for heart worm.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer a six-week full refund, free assistance for six weeks for any issues, and a lifetime takeback policy with a fifty percent refund of the adoption fee, and of course an invitation to our adopters’ Christmas party.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you too as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.

Unfortunately we usually will not have time to reply to enquiries in more detail and will give priority to completed applications over enquiries. Priority will also be given to typed applications which are easier for us to read and to copy relevant parts.
