About Henry ED0038
Henry has been described by his foster carer as a really good dog! Henry loves the beach, swimming and running to retrieve his tennis ball and he’s also partial to a bit of footy. Henry loves his rides in the car – it’s such an adventure – and walking with him is such a pleasure as he is very good on the leash.
Henry is a really great companion – he loves to be next to you on the couch and will snuggle up on the bed often with his chin on his carer’s shoulder. Henry is a very affectionate boy and loves nothing more than spending time in his human’s company – he would settle well in a home where his owner is around most of the time.
Due to Henry’s background he is nervous of new people when they enter his home, so he will need to be introduced to visitors slowly; because of this Henry is looking for experienced owners who will learn to read his body language and would be willing to do lots of positive training with their new companion – he does like tasty morsels which would make training easier and he is a clever dog who learns quickly.
Henry is well socialised with other dogs and loves to play and is sharing his foster home happily with two resident dogs. Henry is housetrained and will sit on command and is learning to stay and shake hands.
Henry has been introduced to chickens and initially chased them but since being told to leave them alone his carer feels he is fine in their company.
Henry has had a difficult start in life which has made him a sensitive soul – he dislikes people raising their voices or shouting. We feel that Henry would be best suited to a quiet household with adults who can spend time with him and help to make him feel secure and loved. If you are looking for a dog to bond with and be your best friend Henry would fill that space in your heart and home.
