About Loki ~ kelpie x, puppy (On Trial approx 16/4/16)
Loki is a 10 week old, male, kelpie cross. He's a very cute bundle of energy who loves to explore his foster family’s paddock. He enjoys spending time with the chickens and mucking around with the goat. He loves life!
Loki is a very smart dude. He will take himself outside to toilet and has worked out that chewing on things other than toys isn’t a great idea. We are teaching him to sit when asked.
Loki's perfect forever home would be one that has lots of space as he loves to run and explore. His my parents were a working breed so ideally his new family would have had experience with herding breeds and how amazing they can be.
We recommend puppy training classes for all puppies. Loki will need a daily walk, toys, and interaction with people. Puppies are a big commitment for approximately 15 years.
Loki needs to be allowed inside when people are home, and to sleep inside. He will be great family dog and is suitable for children 7 years and older. He will grow up to be a medium sized dog. You will need good fencing with no small gaps.
It would be a big plus if you have a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate for Loki as during his wonderful time in foster care Loki has had Constance companion ship from two larger dogs and Loki loves it. If you don't have another dog to keep him company, then there needs to be someone in the household that doesn't work full time
As Loki is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he's 4 or 5 months old.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
