Millicent

Sweet Millicent is just one of the loveliest natured cats you could ever possibly come across. She is super smoochy and wants nothing more out of life than to curl up on your lap and be patted and fussed over all day long.

Millicent would suit an older person looking for a companion, or a family with kids who will give her lots of attention - she's quite an all-rounder!

Millicent came into care with a group of other British Short Hairs. These girls have been used for breeding, just machines to pump out kittens, but have not been well cared for in recent times at all. As the oldest of the bunch Millicent was probably in the worst condition. Underweight and with nasty diarrhoea when she arrived (due to poor diet), Millicent also had a respiratory infection and foul teeth that required cleaning. To top it off, Millicent tested positive to being a carrier of FIV, the precursor to the feline AIDS virus.

As an FIV positive girl, Millicent will need to be the only cat in her new household. This suits her well, she is much happier getting all the atention to herself! She could live with a calm dog.

Millicent's adoptin fee is $175. This includes desexing, microchipping, flea and worm treatment and dental work. Due to her FIV positive status, Millicent's new family will have access to financial assistance from SAFE for the rest of her life, for any treatment relating to her condition. As her new owners it will be your responsibility to cover standard costs like on-going flea and worming treatment and a good quality diet, but annual health checks and required medications will be covered. At present Millicent is in reasonably good health, with some upper respiratory symptoms that are being treated.

We realise that she is not the most desirable cat out there in many ways because of her health. But remember that this is the fault of the breeder who treated her as stock and failed to care for her - not her fault at all! Her personality is unbeatable and adopting her will truly mean changing the world for this girl.
