Poppy ~ Puppy, medium sized (Trial 16/4/16)

This special little lady is Poppy (medium sized, mixed breed). She is 14 weeks old, and one of three survivors of a litter of nine. Despite her rough start, Poppy is still a bundle of puppy energy who just wants to love you!

Poppy is a quiet young lady who enjoys her food and playing in the puppy pool. Poppy has had contact with other big dogs and cats and has shown no aggression- in fact she only wants to make friends!

Poppy is trying to learn basic training, but due to her young age she is not yet fully toilet trained. She is learning how to sit, and she knows her name and will come when she’s called most of the time. She will need a family who is willing to continue with her training. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.

Poppy is very inquisitive and is very good at hiding and squeezing through gaps you didn’t know were there. She’ll need a secure yard and lots of toys and exercise to keep her content so she doesn’t chew and dig holes.

Poppy needs to be with people or another dog. She does not like being left alone. She is at her happiest when she can climb up on to a lap and have a cuddle. Just don’t tell her she might get too big to be a lap dog!

As Poppy is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she'll need to be returned to one of our vets for desexing when she's 4 or 5 months old.
