About Jaffa ~ Kelpie X (On Trial 22/8/17)
Meet Jaffa, a handsome and intelligent 2 year old Kelpie x. He is looking for his forever home with lots of human companionship with patient and loving family members. He can’t get enough of cuddles, walks, playing and having a wrestle with our dogs. He gets on with our dogs as he came to us very frightened, but at times he seems insecure and frightened by raised voices or loud noises and fearful around other dogs. This will require a lot of patients if you already have another dog who he will need to meet. He may be better off as an only dog until his confidence grows, has more practice at socializing and as he matures and is accepted into a loving home. Jaffa has come a long way since coming into our care just over a year ago. He was very frightened and would urinate from fear. He is now growing into a very lovely boy.
Please consider when applying that he is a medium to larger breed so you will require appropriate fencing at least 5 foot although he doesn’t try to dig or jump out of our yard. He is house-trained, although prefers to spend his time outdoors. He does get on with children; he is very gentle with my 1 and 4 year old but may bark occasionally if he is frightened by them. Jaffa is still young and loves things to play with and chew on. He would benefit greatly from some puppy training/ socialisation and responds very well to food. Jaffa has learned very quickly to sit, shake, wait, up and responds when sent outside.
Jaffa listens when his name is called (most of the time), plays fetch and loves hide and seek. He would suit an active couple, family or single person. He has not been trialled on cats and he would not suit a home with birds or small pets. He truly is full of love and personality and will make a wonderful addition to the right family.
For more information or to meet Name, please contact his foster carer Donna on 0466 099 426 or email trudgetty@hotmail.com. Jaffa is in foster care in Beresfield, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Jaffa’s adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
