About Shannon (in Geelong)
Shannon is an Australian Kelpie x Border Collie.

Child Friendly ✘
She is a medium sized dog (15kg) with a beautiful tri-coloured coat.
She looks like a Border Collie and has the markings of a Kelpie but smaller than average sized!
If you are looking for a 'working dog' breed with less energy compared to normal, Shannon may be the one for you. She enjoys short walks but is more than happy to spend lazy days on the couch or bed with you.
She is a very nervous and timid dog - she has spent most of her life only on a large property so hasn't been walked, introduced to stranger dogs or around kids. She is scared of strangers but quickly warms up to them if they offer her food.
She is now friendly with her carers dog but they had to have a slow and careful introduction, so Shannon would be fine to live as an only dog or with another friendly dog as long as they're introduced in a controlled environment.
New owner will need to be willing to work with her to show her the world isn't so scary! She does not like children (-13) as she is easily frightened by how loud they can be and sudden movements.
She may appear very distressed for the first day or two in a new environment, but food brings her our of her shell pretty fast!
She is great on lead and completely house trained.
Are you a special person who can give a rescue dog a home and show her what the world has to offer outside of closed fences?
Medical notes
Healthy.
