About Chance
Chance is a vibrant, happy, active dog. He appears to be truly happy to be alive! He loves both humans and canines. And is up for a cuddle or a romp anytime and anywhere.
Although Chance has quite obviously had a rough time before coming into our care, he has a beautiful nature and has not shown any signs of aggression or fear at any time. Chance is quick to learn and is extremely food motivated, so he is easy to train.
Chance loves to play all the time but he is still learning when enough is enough, so he will need a reasonably tolerant buddy. Or at least one that will give him a warning when they've had enough. He is not rough but just seems to have endless energy and rarely tires of playing.
Chance has been a little deprived of attention previously, so he still has a tendency to attention seek at times. He needs stimulation and daily exercise to use up some of his endless energy. He won't be content to be left alone in the yard all day. He would do best to have a play mate and a family who will include him in their outings and activities.
His zest for life is no doubt related to the hard times he has already endured in his short life. Chancey deserves a special family, who will make sure that he receives all the love and affection he needs.
Medical notes
Chance arrived into our care with severe secondary skin infection, malnourished and anorexic. He only had half a body of fur; raw, red, weeping skin; and weighed only 10.4 kg. His skin infection most likely started with Demodectic Mange.
He was started on weekly Dectomax Injections, antibiotics, good quality food, and regular soothing baths. He is now free of Demodectic Mites, he almost has a full body of fur, and he weighs around 18 kg.
Chance is a happy, healthy dog.
