Get yourself your own personal love bug this Valentines Day!
My name is Betty Boop - but you can call me Betty, BetBet, Snorlax or Beyoncé. I am a French Bulldog cross (my foster mum speculates I could be part fruit bat with my giant ears, but that's neither here nor there) and I am a lap dog with an affinity for kisses, lip smacking and snuggles.
I'll surprise you in the mornings with a kiss, and wherever you are I'll be by your side. In the evenings, I'll gobble down my dinner then I'll fall asleep on your feet and snore really loudly, just to let you know how content I am.
Do I sound like your pawfect match? Do you think we can be together furever? Then there's just one question... Will you be my Valentine?
MY IDEAL HOME: I just love company - I live for my humans, and fall in love so easily, and I want to find my furever family so we can settle down into a routine and I can have some stability.
I've never really had consistent training, and my foster mum thinks I might not have seen much of the world when I was younger, so I'd do best with a firm and experienced handler who is committed to ongoing training. But most of all... I'm looking for someone who accepts me for me and loves me because of my idiosyncrasies, not in spite of them. I give so much love and trust, I just want to be given those things in return.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: I love to get out and about on my current twice-daily walks, but it doesn't take much to exhaust me! A quick trip to the park and a sniff around the block and I'm laying out on the grass cooling my belly and trying to catch my breath. Hot weather is not my friend, so I'd prefer to stay away from an active lifestyle when the temperature peaks.
When I'm at home alone I'll mostly sleep or amuse myself with my favourite chew or soft toys. I tend to have an energy peak when you get back - I'll grab a toy and parade through the house and shake my booty! Don't worry, give me 30 minutes and I'll be back on the couch!
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I like kids, but because I need an experienced and firm handler, I'd do better with children that are dog-experienced/educated. Because I love humans so much I won't hesitate to jump up and kiss children - the mouth is the easiest target - so kids that can help teach me boundaries are best.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I don't bother cats so cats don't bother me! I like my foster bro, who is a Jack Russell, but I am a bit of a bossy boots and humans motivate me more than dogs, so I'd be happy in a home with or without other dogs.
A fur sibling would need to be less bossy than me if we were to really love each other, so it's probably best for us to meet before moving in together.

Adoption details
We ask all people looking to adopt to fill in our adoption enquiry form at http://www.maggiesrescue.org/adoption-enquiry/. Please use this link rather than the 'find out more' button on the pet's PetRescue profile.
We will then organise a time for you to meet with the foster carer and the pet you are interested in adopting.
Maggie's wants this to be a good experience for you, and we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog as your situation may not meet the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of this period we will transfer the microchip to your details and the adoption is complete.
Your pet is a Maggie's Pet for Life, please consider this before adopting.
