About Bailey ~ Jack Russel ~ On Trial 28/2/16
Meet bubbly, beautiful Bailey! Bailey is a small rough coat Jack Russell Terrier x Affenpinscher chap and is 7 years young. He is in great health and has the spirit of a dog half his age but without the puppy naughtiness of a younger dog. Bailey is such a loveable and well-behaved dog – he adapts to new situations quickly and takes everything in his stride. Bailey is very easy going and affectionate too – from the day he was rescued from the pound he has welcomed his new foster family as his new best friends.
Bailey has been a dream in foster care. He is house-trained, car-trained and a very calm and relaxed dog when meeting new people, new dogs and exploring new places for the first time. Bailey loves walking - he is a pleasure to walk, he doesn’t pull on the lead and walks at a relaxed pace so would be easy for a child or an older aged person to walk. He is quite independent and doesn’t need to be entertained – he is happy whilst his foster carer’s are at work if he has a doggy pal to chill out with.
Bailey is very loyal and loves nothing more than to be a part of the family. He is equally happy relaxing inside whilst his foster carer’s are cooking or being a lapdog whilst watching TV. He also loves to be outside on a comfy bed or exploring the yard so he would love a home where he can come in and out as he pleases. Anyone who adopts him would have their own personal shadow, as he loves being around his humans and will happily roll on his back and take a pat from anyone.
Bailey loves his food and is definitely not a picky eater. He is very intelligent, which is typical of his breed – this intelligence combined with his love of food meant that it only took him a day to learn to sit for his food and roll over for pats. He would enjoy a family who will continue teaching him tricks as he enjoys the treats and the mental stimulation of learning new things.
Due to Bailey’s easy going nature he would suit a variety of different forever homes. He would be great for a family with children or a couple or single person of any age. He would love a home with another friendly dog big or small. He is currently living with a Silky Terrier and a Border Collie x and he gets on well with both. At this stage he hasn’t been tested with pocket pets or cats yet. He has a medium shedding coat and enjoys being brushed as it means spending more quality time with you.
In a very short time, Bailey has come to have a special place in his foster family’s hearts and such a special boy like him should have a home where he can get all of the love and attention he deserves.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
