About Curtis ~ Maltese x Jrt x Shih Tzu (Trial 28/2/16)
Meet Curtis, the man of mystery. Mystery of his age, the vets are saying 2 to 3 years, but I think closer to 2. Mystery of his breed, terrier X but cross with what? I can see some Maltese, maybe some Shih Tzu and Jack Russell? Curtis has long legs, so he is quite tall. But where that comes from in those breeds I have no idea and he has a wiry coat. Curtis was unclaimed in a country pound and rescued by Dog Rescue Newcastle, so his heritage will forever remain a mystery.
One thing there is no mystery about, is that Curtis is looking for his forever home. Curtis is very active and loves to play, toys, bones, and other dogs. He is noisy when he plays, like a Jack Russell. He prances when he plays like a - actually I have no idea.
Curtis came with no training, a flea rash and very underweight. But now he has learnt to sit and stay, he is toilet trained, can use a doggy door. Even though I am pushing food constantly his way but have only managed an extra few hundred grams, so he is just on 9kgs. His rash has cleared and his coat is growing back, soft from the daily fish oil supplement.
Curtis can be puppy like and gets under foot, as he follows you around, so he is not suited for a less agile older person. Curtis is great with children and plays often with my reticent Labrador. He can be nervous around new dogs and becomes vocal, so planned introductions are a must. Even so, Curtis would love a young dog to play with in his forever home.
So let's end Curtis's mystery and look towards this boys future, a bright shiny one with his forever family. Can you see this lovely boy being part of your family ?
