About Albi
Albi has a bit of a story to tell but unfortunately he can’t speak so we will never know what has happened to him. We were asked to help with Albi as he was dumped on someone's doorstep after they answered a "free to good home" advert.
Once he was delivered the previous owners wouldn't answer any calls from the new owner who was having problems with Albi. They couldn't get near him to start with although he did get on with their other dog so they tried to persevere but after a month it still wasn't working out.
It was a really sad situation but we decided to give him a chance as even though he was terrified of people he never attempted to bite when pushed.
He has been in care now since November and it has taken a while for him to learn to trust. In his own back yard he is very secure and super playful with other dogs, and people but take him out of his comfort zone and he does listen to you but is very aware of what’s going on around him. He does get a bit nervous so can’t go off lead yet.
He doesn't pull on the lead but he tends to "divert" a bit. He is a dog that is nervous in new situations but once he is comfortable he relaxes and is fine.
I think he needs to go to his new home so that he can bond and grow with his new owner as he just needs time and exposure. The more he gets the better he will be.
He learns quickly and is crate trained, he is a very gently dog and just loves pats and cuddles. When you put his food down he almost waits for you to give him a pat before he will eat.
He will make a great companion for someone who is prepared to put the time into him and give him further training and confidence.
