A formidable guard dog he is not. Rusty would much prefer the laid back life of couch cuddles and the odd stroll around the block.
He will do anything for his owner, and is happy to do as instructed like sitting on command, sitting to wait patiently while you make his dinner, comes when called, will enter the house on command and leave again when asked.
Rusty has also mastered the art of waiting very still while you prepare your own afternoon tea in the hope you may accidently drop some on the floor, he will clean that right up for you, he's just really helpful like that.
Lightweight for a staffy cross, he is not a tank and loves to jump in the car for a ride. Rusty loves the company of other calm and loving dogs, size doesn't matter to this guy.
Oh, and how did I get to the end of this without mentioning his eyes !!

Medical notes
Rusty is desexed, vaccinated & microchipped.
Rusty has Grade 1-2 Hip Dysplacia. It can easily be prevented from worsening if the correct measures are taken, which include:
*Good nutrition
*Weight management
*Supplements (Glucosamine or Fish Oil Tablets)
*Swimming (in flat water- pool or lake)
*No excessive exercise (such as 3 hour runs etc)
At some stage when Rusty was a puppy, he had his tail broken. This has healed and will not require any future treatment nor cause any medical visits for him.

As we rely on our foster carers (who are all volunteers and have families, jobs and pets of their own) to help with adoptions it may take a couple of days to organise for you to meet a dog once you have submitted your adoption application. We appreciate your understanding and patience with us while we work with you to ensure the perfect match for your family.
Safe Haven Animal Rescue Inc have a 10 day trial/settling period, if for any reason the pet needs to be returned, we will happily take them back into our care once a foster home is found and the adoption fee minus $50 (admin fee) will be returned via bank transfer within 5 working days. If the pet is returned after the trial period there will be no refund made.
**Please note that all paperwork including the Microchip Change of owner form will be handed over after the 10 day trial period.**
