About Mowgli (Cat/Dog/Child Friendly)
Golden fur, gold star looks and a heart of gold! With a beautifully soft coat, dopey smile and endless love to give, Mowgli is just as special as they come. He was surrendered to Wally's Dog Rescue, and is now in foster care until he finds his forever home.
Mowgli is a dog of constant love, endlessly curious about the big wide world around him. He absolutely loves playing with other dogs, and is currently in foster care with 7 other dogs small to medium and loves them all. Mowgli has been with Wally's Doggie Rescue for a few months now after under going Left Femoral Head Osteotomy for Hip Dysplasia (See medical notes for more details) but, has been given the all clear and ready for adoption.
Mowgli is currently in foster care in a family environment with two children aged 7 and 9 years and two cats. Mowgli bear is particularly gentle when being introduced to children and loves to hang out with children, he doesn't jump at all for attention, and much prefer's to go in for the big bear hug. Mowgli now well and recovered from surgery is starting to show, his personality. He loves to dig holes, and has a designated clam pool full of sand to dig in and hide treats. Plays in and lays in the dirt and he likes to sit in his clam pool full of water on hot days. Mowgli is very vocal as Husky tend to be, and loves to give out a howl and attempt to bark. He is in the prime of the puppy stage and likes to chew things, and we are constantly re directing this to his chew toys and teething toys.
He has great bite inhibition, taking treats gently and avoiding nipping when playing with toys. He has no food aggression in foster care, with either people or dogs, and will happily allow himself to be handled all over his body. Mowgli travels well in the car, and is very responsive to food training! Mowgli is fully crate trained and inside toilet trained. Mowgli can SIT, STAY and knows the commands YES and NO. Mowgli is currently learning to SHAKE HANDS.
Mowgli is the true definition of a Velcro Dog: Wherever you are, he wants to be there. This has resulted in, perhaps, one of his best qualities: He has a natural heel. He will heel as he walks around the home, the yard, and on leash. It is a joy knowing that wherever you go, you have a faithful and loving shadow there with you. Mowgli still walks with a limp, but this will disappear with time and further healing to his leg.
Mowgli will grow to be a large breed of dog of MEDIUM to HIGH energy. Wally's Doggie Rescue are looking for the perfect home for Mowgli and we believe would be best with another doggy friend (prefer female dog), as well as someone home often will be Mowgli's heaven on earth and a home with Husky and or Malamute experience. Mowgli will require regular grooming, of his long coat.
If it sounds like Mowgli suits you, please send us an email with information regarding your family, any other pets, living situation, and what kind of home you plan on offering. Mowgli has had all his vet work completed, and is ready to find his forever home today!

Mowgli has had Femoral Head Osteotomy or FHO, is the surgical removal of the "ball" part of the ball an socket that makes up the hip joint. This way, the bone of the joint are no longer in contact, which eliminates the pain that is caused by abnormal contact of the bones in a dog with hip dysplasia. The procedure causes the leg to be slightly shorter than the unaffected leg, although amazingly, most dogs return to close to normal activity after the surgery.
Adoption details
When enquiring about Mowgli, please give us some indication of the type of home that he would have with you. We are interested in things such as other animals (past and present), children who may have contact with the dog, whether you own or rent your home, what opportunities for socialisation outside the home your dog would have, how much you/someone is home and most importantly, why you feel this dog may be suitable for you.
Wally's Dog Rescue put a lot of time and effort into ensuring our dogs/pups are sociable and made to feel part of the family, so in considering adoptions, these are the type of things we will be looking for in a new family.
To kickstart my training, Wyong Dog Training Club will provide 3 FREE dog training sessions
http://wyongdogtrainingclub.org.au/. So please be sure to utilise this awesome gift which will benefit both you and Mowgli.
Wally's Doggie Rescue likes all of our rescues to be adopted into families that will continue their socialisation and allow their dogs inside of the home on a regular basis to ensure that they are part of the family. This is particulary so if they are to be an only dog.
Mowgli is located on the Central Coast in Green Point, NSW.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
