Mudflap is a big, SUPER-HUNKY head-turner of a bloodhound cross who loves walks, runs, food and pets. Enid and Mudflap were found wandering in a state forest, and after multiple sightings, ended up being caught and interned at the pound. On their final day and final hour, Maggie's came in and rescued them, hurrah! Nothing is known about their background, but they are loving life in foster care. We think they would be happily rehomed seperately, so if you are looking specifically for a strapping, handsome chap, Muddy could be your dog.
Beautiful Mudflap is a giant, high-energy pup. He thrives on games of fetch (well, don't expect him to bring a ball back to you!), belly rubs and praise. He is bursting with oafish enthusiasm and just adores people. Expect him to follow you round and check out what you are doing as he is very curious.
With his large and striking bloodhound physique, Mudflap needs an owner who is not phased by his size. He responds well to the 'sit' and 'drop' commands, and is keen to please. If you lead an active outdoor life, and are home a lot to keep him company, he will be a great companion for you. He loves to hang out and just be near - he is a charming loveable goofball.
MY IDEAL HOME: I need a mature, confident person/family who will take me out running, walking or bush walking and properly involve me in your life. Someone who has experience with large breeds would be perfect, so you'll know best how to manage and guide me. I am a giant love-bug and just want to be by your side.
I need a large, well-fenced yard, where I can gallivant about. The yard needs to be puppy-proof because I am a big galoot. I am a hound who makes full use of space, and will gallop around indiscriminately for hours if the urge takes me. I am still a giant puppy afterall.
I recently had 3 weeks board and train at Pet Resorts Dural. I loved everyone there immediately, and charmed them all with my friendly personality! I even made a doggy friend called Zeus and we played together everyday.
Whoever adopts me needs to take me for a good walk or run everyday, give me loads of fresh water to drink (I drink alot of it), the odd toy and bone to chew, and a good-quality dog food. I am currently enjoying life sleeping inside and hanging out indoors with my foster family. I simply thrive being near my humans. I am not a dog who will do well being left in the yard by myself, I need to be included in your life and activities.
Although I am not a purebred, I have bloodhound traits. If you are interested in adopting me, please do some research on bloodhounds. My foster family says this link is very helpful in describing me: http://www.yourpurebredpuppy.com/reviews/bloodhounds.html
MY ENERGY LEVEL: High. I have the enthusiasm of a young puppy, but I am 50 kilos already, and will grow to be even heavier. I need at least two hours of exercise a day to be happy and calm. I also need toys, chews, and to be reminded to be polite and 'sit' if I get over-excited. I walk well on the lead though, and love an outing to the park.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Unfortunately I am just too strong and too excitable to be suited to families with small children.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I think I would like to live with another medium to large dog, but no cats.

Adoption details
We ask all people looking to adopt to fill in our adoption enquiry form at http://www.maggiesrescue.org/adoption-enquiry/. Please use this link rather than the 'find out more' button on the pet's PetRescue profile.
We will then organise a time for you to meet with the foster carer and the pet you are interested in adopting.
Maggie's wants this to be a good experience for you, and we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog as your situation may not meet the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of this period we will transfer the microchip to your details and the adoption is complete.
Your pet is a Maggie's Pet for Life, please consider this before adopting.
