Spencer

Spencer is a big boy who still has loads of growing to do! He will need a family who has experience with large breed dogs so will be able to provide him with the training socialisation exercise and love he needs. Puppy preschool would be fantastic for Spencer as he will learn to follow basic commands as well as socialise with the other puppies and people. If you have children the classes are a great place for them to learn how to handle and interact with Spencer in a calm and safe manner so please encourage them to participate also. Spencer is the most outgoing of his litter. He is the first to run to greet people but does tend to jump up so needs to learn more settled behaviour especially if you have small children as he could accidently knock them over or scratch them.
If you already have a dog and you are thinking of adopting Spencer please bring your dog along to the shelter to meet him so we can see how they interact. Spencer should be introduced to any other pets in the house slowly and under supervision.
During his stay at the shelter Spencer has been fed a diet of Hills Science Diet- Puppy Large Breed and we strongly recommend he continues on this in his new home.
