About Agro
When this stunning boy first came into our care it was evident he had had quite a rough, if not violent upbringing. He was full of love and adoration but the minute anyone tried to grab his collar gruffly, he would turn around and bite. We believe he may have been kicked or hit whilst being tied, up which explained the reaction of not wanting to be held by the collar. He is however fine on lead and/or halter. We have spent months building trust with Agro and he has come an enormous way and we are now able to hold his collar without too much fuss. Agro is great off lead and has great recall, fantastic with other dogs and loves puppies; although doesn't know his own strength around puppies and smaller dogs and is learning "gentle" as a command to be listened to. Agro does resource guard, especially if he knows he is doing something wrong, (like stealing my much loved mangos) and this is a work in progress to adjust this behaviour. Agro is housetrained and will sleep on his mat all night, will sit and shake before eating his food. He loves a snuggle and a wrestle, but is not suitable for children as he can play quite rough.
Agro would excel as a tradies dog or with an active couple. He loves being around his humans and interacting with others. Agro needs someone who understands the Kelpie breed and who is able to read his behaviour and commit to continuing his training. He is a work in progress but definitely worth the effort. Are you looking for a challenge, then Agro is definitely worth looking into.

OUR ADOPTION PROCESS
1. You see a dog you like.
2.Fill in our online adoption form by clicking here or on our website. Be sure to include any questions you may have on our adoption form.: (This form does not obligate you to adopt, it simply gives us an idea of your situation and needs.)

3. If your are successful one of our volunteers will contact you to organise a meet and greet at your home and conduct a yard check at the same time.
4. Should all go to plan, you will be welcomed to start your 2 week trial period immediately. Adoption fee will be required to be paid at the beginning of the trial period.
During the 2 week trial period, should you decide that this dog is not for you, you can return the dog at any time (the more notice the better, so we can ensure we have a foster carer available) and your payment will be returned to you in full, within 3 business days of the return of the dog.

We are a volunteer run organisation, who have their own jobs during the day, we don't have someone manning our phone during this time, therefore cannot respond to all inquiries immediately. The fastest way to have your questions answered is to include it in the application form. This will speed up your application with us, and help us communicate with you faster.
Please be patient with us, as the unpredictable nature of rescue may prevent us from clearing all enquiries regularly.
