About Max ~ Jack Russell Terrier, senior (trial 29/3/16)
Hi, I'm Max,an 8 year old, male, Jack Russell Terrier. When I came to my new foster home a few months ago I was shy and timid. I carefully walked through the hall and explored the garage and backyard quietly. Now I am bouncy, playful and always have my ears up and my tail wagging happily.
My foster carer says I have the cutest smile and the most loving, bubbly, excited personality. I love it when my carers wake up in the morning - I run circles because I get so excited to see them. Every time I see my carers walk past the back door or come home from work I get so excited and happy to see them and jump around happily wagging my tail until they come out to see me and scratch behind my ears. I love my ear scratches and shoulder rubs. I have learned to enjoy being patted on my body. Now I know that they won't hurt me so I don't put my tail between my legs or my ears down like I used to when I first arrived.
Walkies are my favourite! I can walk for ages and am super excited to explore new sights, smells and sounds. I am perfect on a lead. I still need to work on learning to sit, but with time and treats I will get there. I don't bark, jump up at people or dig when I'm left at home for a few hours, I just explore, chill out or take a nap.
I am really good inside the house, I don't wee inside or do anything bad. I'm ok outside while you go to work but I need to be allowed inside in my forever home and to sleep inside.
I know to do my doggy doos on the grass so I will keep the back porch clean because that's where I eat. I love to eat dog meat roll, tinned dog food and chicken wings. However I am not too fussed on vegetables and sometimes and find dog biscuits a bit tough to crunch sometimes. Even if happen to put your hand near me when I'm eating or in my food I won't growl or snap, I will just continue trying to eat at the side of the bowl.
I love a back scratch, cuddles and pats and I love seeing new people. I get so excited and am super friendly. I love being told I am a good boy and love to lick your hands while you pat me to show you my love. I absolutely love people and love hanging around anyone who comes to see or pat me. I never snap or growl, I just get excited. I love other doggies and never fight with any size doggy. I don't mind the car and will sit quietly, however I am still getting used to car trips.
I love exploring the back yard and taking naps on the concrete on a warm day. When it is cold I love curling up in my warm, snuggly, cushioned bed, with my blankey and my stuffed toy lamb to keep me warm in my kennel.
I don't luv baths but I stand there like a good boy and let my carers wash my whole body, then when I am all clean, I love being wrapped up all snuggly in a towel and dried off, then I go play.
I am a very loyal and loving boy and can't wait to meet my new owners and go to my forever home.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
