About Katniss (Cat Tolerant) On Trial 4 March
“I’m Katniss and like my namesake Katniss Everdeen I’m excellent at foraging (off the bench for toast), hunting (for the comfiest spot on the lounge) and survival (I’m a greyhound, I’m part of the 5% that make it to the end of my racing career and look for a home!) Unlike my namesake I am quite shy at first, and hopeless at being on my own. Did I mention I get along with kitties and small dogs? I am good with small humans but younger noisy kiddies might be a bit much for me so I would be best in a home with older children. I’m looking for somewhere that will have a friendly confident doggy to keep me company and improve my confidence in new situations. I’m an excellent snuggler, good at kisses, and waiting patiently for my perfect match. If you think you might just have room for me at your place contact the volunteers info@greyhoundrescue.com.au”

Adoption details
Once we have found your new greyhound we will send you an application form to complete and return. Then we will arrange a house check. It is important that the right hound goes to the right home! We can arrange for you to meet the dog/s and they can meet your family and/or other pets. Our hounds go “on trial” with your family for a minimum of 2 weeks. We have dogs that are small dog and cat friendly.
We expect greyhounds to be 'indoor dogs' and not left alone for long periods of time. Ideally they would have a doggy or human friend for company most of the time.
