About Gigi
Gigi came to us at first due to a domestic Violence situation where her owner had escaped with the pup and her daughter but could not have the pup at the refuge. We often help out in these situations so we took her in with the idea that when her owner was able to have her she would go back and in the mean time we would treat her as one of ours and get her immunised, desexed and chipped. After nearly two months her owner found accommodation that would allow her to have the pup, which was wonderful. During the waiting period her owner had come to visit every week which was lovely. About 3 months later I received a call asking whether she could surrender her as the owner was going into a special rehabilitation for domestic violence victims and she could not take gigi with her and she did not know how long it would take either. Gigi is a lovely young dog who has been taught some manners and some very basic obedience. She is a very soft loving intelligent affectionate young dog ready for new active family to adopt who would continue her training. She is desexed immunised and microchipped ready for her new home.
Adoption details
HappyPaws Haven is fussy about who adopts these animals and where they are housed and cared for. The adoption criteria is documented as a questionnaire and strictly adhered to. We do not adopt animals to people who rent unless they are long term rental at the same address and have landlords written permission.
We ask if they have thought about the attributes they want in a dog, lifestyle, childrens ages, prepared to train, etc. We also talk about responsible pet ownership, \ fully fenced yards, hours unattended etc. and finally a vet reference.
