About Brover ~ On Trial 7/2/16
Introducing Brover - a scruffy little 3 month old Dachshund x Maltese fellow with big brown eyes that will turn you to mush. He’s a small, affectionate pup with a friendly nature and a twinkle of cheekiness in his eye. He loves meeting new people and getting petted by them, and he’s not phased if you have a busy household with people coming and going. He has a unique personality all of his own and he keeps his foster family in stitches laughing at his puppy silliness and antics.
Brover shares his foster home with 3 other small dogs and he loves their company so he would love to be adopted by a family with another friendly young dog whom he can play with. It doesn’t take him long to bond with new doggy friends. He’s also in care with cats and chickens in a pen and he is great with them.
Brover loves people of all ages and sizes and he is very fond and gentle with the kids that he is in foster care with. He is for the most part toilet trained, only having the occasional accident – however still being a young puppy his new family will need to continue with his toilet training in his new home to minimize puppy accidents. Brover needs to be an inside/outside dog – spending time with his family inside whenever they are home. Brover needs to sleep inside at night and is content to sleep in a doggy bed in a cosy room inside (or in your bedroom if you’ll let him!)
Brover will be great in an active family of any age with another friendly dog to keep him company and run around with. He responds well to reward based training and loves his treats. He enjoys traveling in the car and is just learning to walk on the lead. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.
Brover has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep him comfortable and beautiful.
For more information or to meet Brover, please contact his foster carer Karen by email plumb2a@bigpond.com or mobile 0411 263 304. Brover is in foster care near Gosford on the Central Coast of NSW (2250) and is not available for adoption interstate. He will be ready to go to his new home on the 21st February after he is desexed.
Brover's adoption fee is $650 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
