About Bam Bam
Bam Bam is very sweet and gentle to his humans and will happily climb onto your lap for a cuddle!
In the short time he has been with his foster carers they have taught him a few more commands such as ‘stay’, ‘gentle’ (for food) ‘walkies’, ‘wait’ for crossing the road and he already has ‘sit’ mastered.
He is not very food orientated and responds more to praise than treats (as food was available to him 24/7 in his previous home) He is slowly learning that you eat at mealtimes and then it is taken away from you, so treats are becoming more valuable to him over time.
He walks very well on a lead, only occasionally becoming a little over excited and pulling, but this is quickly solved by stopping when he pulls so he learns it doesn't get him very far!
He travels well in the car but loves to be included in the whole process so he wears his car harness.
In Bam Bam's previous home, he lived with small children and was a great nanny dog so he would really enjoy some little humans to
Hang out with, as long as they have manners of course.
Bam Bam will need to be an only dog as has trouble interacting with other canines in a home environment.
The vets isn't Bam bam's favourite place but Bam bam is a typical bully so he has issues at times with his skin and sometimes his ears, most probably due to seasonal allergies. Fortnightly baths with the right shampoo should keep on top of his bully skin.
Bam bam loves to be around his humans and is working on his separation anxiety when his family isn't home.
Bam bam thinks he is a possum so will need adequate fencing so he doesn't join the marsupials over the fence!
Bam bam has been an outside dog in the past but would cope best inside with a family in the evenings, watching tv or playing board games with you all!
UPDATE FROM FOSTER CARERS 5.02.16
He is coming along extremely well. He has learned to play with toys (still getting the hang of bringing the Kong back!)
He has learned to eat his meals at breakfast and dinner, so not having food around 24/7 he is becoming more food orientatated.
He is getting used to being inside more and settles down for cuddles better.
His skin is nearly clear and one of his ears is nearly standing up now the gunk isn't holding it down.
The stay command is coming along nicely, he's learning that when he has to stay outside alone for a little while we always come back and he doesn't cry anymore!
