About Rocky ~ (adopted by foster carer 28/3/16)
Meet Rocky! Rocky is a gorgeous 12 month old black and white male American Staffy with a lot of love to give. Rocky is beautifully natured, always happy, playful and is still very puppy like.
Rocky loves to do anything with you as long as he has your company. He is extremely social enjoying the company of dogs from all sizes and breeds. He could be happily homed in an environment with other dogs. Having grown up in a house with children Rocky loves kids and will love their company.
During the day you will find Rocky playing with his toys, he loves to be constantly stimulated if without your company, you will see his running around the backyard with all of his toys. In the night however Rocky loves snuggling up on the lounge. Rocky is house trained and will sit at the door to let you know when he needs to go outside to do his business.
Rocky loves car trips and will jump into the car and travel really well, as long as you give him a window to look out of, he is happy. Whilst Rocky is not the biggest fan of water or the beach, he does love long walks along the track and is generally good on the lead if you use a harness to secure him.
Rocky responds well to basic commands – he knows his name, can sit and recently been taught to drop. With more training and patience he has the potential to learn many more tricks as he is a fast learner if given the opportunity.
Rocky is a non-barker and since being in foster care for 4 weeks has not barked at anything.
His ideal backyard would be one with high strong 6ft fences to keep him secure as due to his cheeky curious nature he will jump if given the opportunity. Rocky would love a home with an active family or individual to provide him with daily exercise and stimulation.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
