Stella 1174 & Gypsy 1175

True rescue dogs and real sweethearts, Stella and Gypsy are your perfect match if you’re looking to change two special lives. They need temporary care for 4 weeks in March, or even better, to have found their forever home.

For many years, Gypsy the Toy Poodle (now ~10-12yrs old) was used for extensive breeding in a puppy farm which has since been shut down. She was rescued two years ago along with Stella the German Shepherd X who was saved as a puppy, and they have been together ever since.

These two are truly an odd couple and Gypsy is always mothering Stella! They are the best of friends who love each others company and don’t cope well being separated. Sadly, their owner passed away due to illness recently and these girls have found themselves without a home.

Gypsy is a cuddly, loving, little lady who loves chicken, but her favourite thing in the world is steak! As soon as you start cooking it, she’s hot on your heels hoping her best puppy dog eyes will land her a sneaky bit of steak. She doesn’t like to share her food with other dogs (understandable, after years in a puppy farm!). She’s great to walk on the lead, her recall is excellent and she is very loyal. She’s easy to groom and is a good girl in the car.

Gypsy loves napping on her bed or sitting on your lap. She’s a big fan of basking in the sunshine or rolling in the grass and often trots back inside looking like a lamington!

Two year old Stella is only a baby and has already got a myriad of commands down pat; sit, wait, on your bed and many more. She’s eager to please and absolutely LOVES chasing her ball at the park. She’s recently started swimming at the beach with her carer, but isn't keen to go in on her own yet.

Although Stella is a big girl, she’s not very demanding when it comes to exercise. She loves chasing her ball, but after 15-20 minutes, she’s usually tired and ready to have a rest. On an extra bouncy day, she loves to go back to the park later for another ball chasing session.

She can be very shy with new people, particularly men, but warms up over time – she will put on her big girl guard dog bark, but it’s all noise and deep down she’s just a bit unsure and insecure.

She loves to snuggle indoors with Gypsy, laying under the air con or chewing a deer antler on her bed. Stella and Gypsy have somebody home more often than not, but are used to sleeping inside but on their own beds.

These two girls can’t wait to move to their new forever home where they can settle in and enjoy being loved. If you think you can offer Stella and Gypsy the special home they deserve, they’d love to meet you!
