About “Sammy”, The Comeback Kid. Brisbane
Sammy is a big, beautiful boy who’s had a difficult life, yet still manages to show his humans his tender, loving heart. Sammy was very unsure when he came into foster care, lying in the dirt and too bewildered to even let his foster carers put a collar on him.
With months of patient, loving care, Sammy has flourished. He is now toilet trained and responds to his name, and sometimes just comes over to check his humans are still there to look after him. He loves his bed and his daily walks, and bounds down the stairs as soon as he hears someone pick up his lead. His favourite things are squeaky toys – and sleeping! Sammy's just grateful to be comfortable and safe, and will look up at you from his bed with “thank you” in his eyes.
Sammy needs a nurturing home who will appreciate the beautiful heart behind his scars. He’s polite around his large canine female foster siblings, but isn’t compatible with small dogs or cats. Ideally Sammy would like to live with a medium to large female fur sibling, rather than a male. Any children he meets need to be old enough to stay safe when he’s bouncing around with happiness!
Sammy’s past may be grim, but his future is looking brighter by the day. We’re proud to help this incredible ‘comeback kid’ find somebody special to share it with.
